Step 1 — File the complaint with Bank of America directly
Most regulators want to see that you tried to resolve the issue with the company first. Use the official channels below.
- Customer service / contact: Bank of America Contact Page
- Who you are (account number, order number, member ID).
- What happened (dates, what you were told, what was supposed to happen).
- What you've already done (prior support contacts, ticket numbers, dates).
- What you want (specific outcome — refund, repair, account correction, etc).
- A deadline (e.g., "Please respond within 14 days or I will escalate to Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).").
Step 2 — Document everything
- Save copies of every message you send and receive, including chat transcripts.
- Note the date, time, and name of every customer service rep you speak with.

This documentation is what regulators and arbitrators rely on. Without it, your complaint is much harder to act on.
